We welcome Prof. Tommaso Cucinotta as an EMbeDS affiliate.
Prof. Tommaso Cucinotta has become an official affiliate of EMbeDS in November 2022
This, along with ongoing research collaborations and his participation to the faculty of the PhD programs in Data Science and in AI & Society, consolidates his role as a member of our community.
Tommaso obtained a MSc in Computer Engineering from University of Pisa, and a PhD in Computer Engineering from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (SSSA). From 2005 to 2011 he was a researcher at the Real-Time Systems Laboratory (ReTiS) of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, carrying out research on operating systems and adaptive processor scheduling for a wide range of real-time software systems, ranging from embedded platforms to cloud and distributed software. From 2012 to June 2014 he was a researcher at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs in Dublin, Ireland, carrying out research in security and real-time performance of cloud-based systems. From July 2014 to December 2015, he was a Software Development Engineer at Amazon DataBase Services, Dublin, Ireland, where he worked on improving the real-time performance and scalability of the DynamoDB NoSQL real-time data-base.
Since 2016, Tommaso has returned to SSSA -- becoming an associate professor at the Real-Time Systems Laboratory (ReTiS) of the TECIP Institute, He teaches courses on cloud computing and big-data infrastructures, component-based software design and C/C++ programming.
